Pierre Ollivier is a Corporate Vice President of STMicroelectronics in charge of the Company’s legal matters and has held this position since January 2008. His responsibilities include the Company’s Intellectual Property protection and management of its worldwide insurance programs.
Ollivier started his career in Clifford Turner (now Clifford Chance) working on M&A litigation and corporate restructuring. From 1982 to 1984, he was responsible for legal affairs at Stein Heurtey, an engineering corporation, in Evry, France. Ollivier joined Thomson CSF, a predecessor company to ST, in 1984. Two years later, he moved to Thomson’s corporate headquarters, where he dealt with major M&A transactions between Thomson, GE and Philips. Ollivier was appointed general counsel of ST in 1990, steering the Company through its listings on three major stock exchanges over the years.
Pierre Ollivier was born in London, UK, in 1955. He obtained a Law degree at Caen University, France, and a postgraduate degree in International Business Law at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
