Lighting - HID

High-intensity discharge (HID) lamps offer better lumen efficiency, color rendering and focusing capability, as well as longer life, compared to low-pressure fluorescent lamps. Their superior performance makes them popular for hotel and restaurant lighting, shops, stadiums, street lighting, industrial and workshop lighting, office and home lighting. Electronic ballasts are preferred to electromagnetic ballasts because of increased lamp life, lower power losses, the absence of the 50 Hz flicker in the light and greater reliability resulting from the end-of-life protection.
