For the new generation of welding
equipment, low forward voltage is necessary to
reduce conduction power losses.
ST has introduced a new family of high current 400V diodes,
from 60A up to 200A, offering optimum solutions and performance
with compact packages for this new generation of equipment.
The 400V family of STTH diodes consists of planar structures realized
on epitaxial layers. The epitaxial layers structure, which presents well suited
drift area thickness, exhibits superior behavior for VF / trr trade-off.
Thanks to this new technology, which reduces conduction power losses, ST can
propose new 400V diodes with 28% VF reduction at the same trr as
the old technology. For instance,
for equipment with two ISOTOP 200A diodes, power losses can be reduced
by 80W. |
